The Guitar grove
This is just one of my interests outside of work. I am however, no expert and would welcome advice from anyone! I'm looking particularly for some cool-sounding Blues riffs, or tutorials. Anything outside of the standard Rock/Alternative scene. Except for Everlong by the Foo Fighters. Anyone got this on Tab?
I have a range of various riffs that would be great for beginners or those of us in the 'inbetween' level to learn. They sound quite cool, and are probably best if you're into rock/alternative/grunge type music. You could, of course go to the main source of all Tab, at Harmony Central or the Online Guitar Archive. I'm also looking for a source of Supergrass tab, particularly 'Late in the Day' and 'King Richard III'.

Sublime - What I got
If you are looking for a specific tab go to the OLGA. You can find more information on many of these bands in the Music section. Collective Soul - December This one's very easy, just take a G formation and away you go. e-|-----------------3---------|-----------------3--------|-----------------3---------|---------------------------|
Collective Soul - World I know This one's a little tougher. The '/' refers to a slide, which means you hold the strings down and slide them towards the desired frets while strumming. The '0's refer to open strings (nothing held down) and the 'x' refers to a muted string. This means you hold it lightly so is produces little noise. e-|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
and repeat. Eagles - Hotel California This is one cool sounding intro, very famous, great to play. And if you know the chords, it is very easy.

F# Foo Fighters - Big Me The video for his is damn funny. Here are the chords: E - 022100 and the sequence is [CaddG] [Am7] [G] [F] (x2) Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Perhaps the most well recognised and overplayed song, now you can learn it too. This is the first song I learnt to play... It's only the intro. e-|---------7-----7-|-8-----8-2-----2-|-0---------0-----|--------------------|
and repeat once. e-|-------------0--2------2-|-0-----0----------|---------3-----3--|--3-p-2-2-2-----|

Oasis - Wonderwall Now for a lesson in strumming. This is one of the easiest to play, yet it sounds really good...not sure why. You should probably stick a capo on the second fret and use these chords. If you don't have one, tough :) F#m7 - 022033 Your 3rd and 4th fingers stay on the E and B strings on the 3rd fret throughout the song. Just play the following as Noel does in the song. Today... Easy eh? Seal - Kiss from a Rose This is a fast-picking song. Although it's not really my type of song, it definitely sounds good when you get it right. Plus we have to cater for all types here, don't we?

E Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 Here is another strumming song. As with all Smashing Pumpkins songs, the guitar should be tuned to Eb or 1/2 a step. You don't have to of course. |-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, tonight Intro and main riff E--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun This is just the intro to this great song. The fingering is kinda awkward, but who you'll get used to it. E------------------|-----------|------------------|-------------|-----------------|------------|
Sublime - What I got Here's the solo part of the song, which kinda sounds like Spanish guitar. Once you get it, it sounds cool... trust me, it does e|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
fullbend To all the respective people who wrote these tabs - I'm sorry I
can't credit all of you, but we all appreciate your talents. |
